For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Boy, have I ever forgotten that lately. I have been reading books, magazine articles, pouring over web sites, checking pretty much every source of information I could get my hands on about radical Islam. With each new bit of information the cold knot of fear and anger in my gut was growing. I would try to talk to folks and they simply were not interested. When I came on to blogster I was relieved because I saw there were those that DID get it. It, being the fact that with each new day that our political leaders do nothing but fight each other, radical Islam grows fatter, hungrier more confident and vicious. I felt I had to find a way to stop this growing threat. I am but one man I told myself in the beginning but many a great thing has begun with just one man. Not that I myself had desire for any greatness, I assure you I do not, but I did consider warning un suspecting sheep that they were about to be sheared a great thing, a high calling, a duty not to be shirked. However, after seeing how it has begun to take over my life to the point of my losing sleep and being consumed with thoughts of very little else, I think its time for me to stop. I don't mean stop writing a blog, just stop focusing on Islam, liberals, politics, and things of this world and re adjust my thinking to what really matters, that being my walk with Jesus Christ. That being said, and maybe I shouldn't, but consider it my final shots in my own personal war against things I can't really change, allow me just a few partings words of warning.
. I don't think the fighting between our two main parties is going to stop. It will probably get worse, in fact it almost certainly will. The appeasers will likely come to power here in America and will begin to try and talk to the people that we are fighting with, who will tell them what their itching ears want to hear. Perhaps some world leader, maybe even an unknown name at this point, will step in with a plan that will bolster the claims that it was a good idea to seek diplomatic solutions to the struggles we now face. Things will begin to smooth out a little. Everyone will laud our new leaders that seem to have stemmed the tides of war. This new unknown leader will begin to rise in the ranks of government, not here most likely although he will be much admired by Americans no matter their party affiliations. New brilliant plans will emerge, world peace will suddenly not seem like some far fetched dream anymore. Maybe (lets call him President X) President X calls a meeting between the Israelis and Hezbollah and actually gets them to sit down together. The next days headline: PRESIDENT X GETS AGREEMENT IN PALESTINE. The agreement seems to be holding together, things are looking up....
Well, if I've peaked your interest any at all in my little tale of President X, you can finish reading about him in the book of Revelation, he is known as the Antichrist. I leave you now to make your own decisions. I will continue to write but most likely my posts will be found in the religious section and I will leave the politics to others, for now at least. I seek to do the will of my Father and through the power of the Holy Spirit and the love and strength of Jesus Christ my Lord and King, I shall.
Just my opinion
Bill

What you have said here is very much what I have been going through myself. What you said about the Antichrist is certainly a possibility. I guess I'm not to the point of keeping my nose out of the politics part of it yet. I want my voice to be heard even if the "other side" makes fun of me or insults me.
I do agree with you that the polictical fighting is not going to stop and will probably get worse. I think that people have become so blinded to their own agendas that they refuse to work together for the good of everyone.
I have even been in constant contact with a man who lives in Iran. We have some heated debates about Islam and Christianity but can generally be civil with each other. He thinks the actions of bin Laden and those like him are horrible but he backs Hamas and Hezbollah and hates Zionist Israel. Yes, very interesting conversations indeed.
I have almost finished a book entitled, "Answering Islam". I now have so much ammunition against Islam it's astounding. Reading that book has bolstered my faith in Christ. The book is taken from both angles and then explains how Islam cannot possibly be correct. It also explains away all of the arguments Islam has against Christianity by proving their arguments to be false. I have learned quite a bit from that book.
Take care
